NASA launched the Mars Images application for Android smartphones and iPhone. Mars Images is a new application that provides images of Mars taken by NASA’s rover vehicle.
Images of Mars application made by Mark Powell, a computer expert of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, NASA. This application lets users see images of the surface of Mars, taken by the Oportunity Mars Exploration vehicles, which have been on Mars since 2004.
Oportunity Mars Exploration Vehicle have found evidence that water once ever existed on Mars. NASA also plans to add archive these images with images taken from a other vehicle Mars rover, The Spirit. Although the mission of The Spirit is over since mid-2011, but still exploring the surface of Mars to date. The Spirit and Opportunity are doing research on Mars since January 2004.
